Copper, PEX or poly repaired with proper fittings, or the failed section replaced. No tape, no putty, no temporary patch.
Retest
The line is pressure-tested and the repair checked under load before we reinstate walls or ground.

Repair the Section, or Repipe?
Most bursts are a single failed section. Some pipes have simply reached the end. Here's how we tell you which.
Repair the section if… Same-day fix
- It's the first failure on an otherwise sound line
- The pipe is copper or PEX in good condition either side
- The failure is a joint, a flexi hose or one damaged spot
- The rest of the system pressure-tests clean
Time to repipe if… Planned, staged, priced fixed
- The pipe is old galvanised steel that is rusting through
- This is the second or third burst on the same line
- Pressure is poor everywhere because the pipe is choked inside
- Green or rusty water shows the pipe is corroding from within

Good to Know Before You Call
What should I do the moment a pipe bursts?
Turn the water off at the meter, usually at the front boundary, by turning the tap clockwise. Switch off the hot water system and any power near the water. Then call us; we'll dispatch and talk you through the rest.
Can you find a leak inside a wall without ripping it open?
Yes. Acoustic listening gear, thermal imaging and tracer gas pinpoint the failure so we open only a small section, rather than guessing.
My bill went up but I can't see any water. Where is it going?
Usually underground between the meter and the house, or under the slab. If the meter turns with every tap off, there is a leak. We locate it and repair that section.
Do you repair with tape or a patch to get me by?
No. Temporary patches fail and flood again. We repair or replace the section with proper fittings and pressure-test it.
Should I replace all the flexi hoses in my house?
If they are more than five years old or show any rust or bulging, yes. They are the most common cause of sudden indoor flooding and cheap to replace while we are there.
Do you charge extra for a burst at night?
