Which One's You?

Small fixture faults waste a surprising amount of water and money. Tell us what's going on and we'll tell you what it usually needs.

Dripping tap

Worn washer, seat or ceramic cartridge. A quick repair, or a new mixer if the tap body is past it.

Toilet keeps running

A failed inlet valve, flapper or outlet washer in the cistern. Repaired on the spot, or a new cistern if it's cracked.

Stiff or squeaky tap

Worn spindle or seized cartridge. We rebuild or replace so it turns smoothly again.

Leak under the sink

Failed flexi hose, trap or connection. Flexi hoses in particular should be replaced before they burst.

Wobbly or loose toilet

A failed pan collar or fixing. Left alone it leaks into the floor, we reseal and refix it properly.

Renovating a bathroom or kitchen

New mixers, basins, toilets, shower heads and dishwasher connections installed to code and looking sharp.

Every Fixture

Kitchen, Bathroom, Laundry & Outdoors

From a single washer to a full suite of new tapware, we repair or replace every fixture in the house with quality Australian-standard fittings.

Taps & Mixers

Repairs, cartridge replacements and new mixers for kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.

Toilets & Cisterns

Running, leaking or cracked cisterns repaired, or complete new suites installed.

Showers & Basins

New shower heads, rails and mixers, basins and vanities plumbed and sealed.

Appliance Connections

Dishwashers, fridges with ice makers and washing machines connected with new hoses and isolation taps.

Straight Answer

Repair It or Replace It?

A repair is often the smart call. Sometimes new tapware is cheaper in the long run. Here's how we decide, and we'll tell you either way.

Repair makes sense if… Usually under an hour

  • The tap or cistern body is sound and parts are available
  • It's a washer, seat, cartridge or valve
  • The fitting is under about 10 years old
  • You like the look and it matches the rest

Replace it if… New fitting, supplied & fitted

  • Parts are obsolete or the body is corroded or cracked
  • It's been repaired before and keeps failing
  • You're renovating and want a fresh look
  • A water-efficient model will pay for itself on the bill

Bands are relative, not quotes. Everything we fit carries WaterMark certification, and we're happy to install tapware you've bought yourself as long as it does too.

Local Knowledge

Taps & Fixtures Across Wollongong & the Illawarra

Half our tap jobs in Tarrawanna and Bellambi are 1980s tapware that nobody makes spindles for any more, so we carry the adaptors and the common replacement bodies on the van. In the newer homes around Horsley and Shell Cove it's mixers with worn cartridges and, increasingly, cheap online tapware that doesn't carry WaterMark and can't legally be installed.

A tap that drips no matter what you do is often a pressure problem rather than a tap problem, and a wet cupboard under the sink is usually a flexi hose, which we cover on the burst pipes page. We check both before we change a washer.

The same local crew that does your emergency work does your tapware, so it's done to the same standard.

Questions

Good to Know Before You Call

Can you fit tapware I've bought myself?

Yes. Bring your own and we'll install it, we'll just check it's WELS-rated and suitable before we start. Or we can supply quality fittings at trade prices.

How much water does a dripping tap waste?

A steady drip can waste thousands of litres a year, and a running toilet far more. Most repairs pay for themselves on the next water bill.

Why should I replace flexi hoses?

Braided flexi hoses under sinks and toilets fail without warning and cause serious flooding. If yours are more than five to ten years old or showing rust or bulging, replace them.

Can you match old tapware?

Often parts are still available and we carry common washers, seats and cartridges. If a tap is obsolete we'll show you the closest modern equivalent.

Do you do bathroom renovations?

We handle all the plumbing for renovations, rough-in, fixture installation and connection. We work alongside your builder or tiler.

Is it a same-day job?

Almost always. Repairs and most replacements are done in a single visit from a stocked van. Special-order fixtures may take a few days to arrive.

What do WELS stars and WaterMark actually mean?

WELS is the Australian Government's water rating: more stars, less water per minute or per flush, and the label is mandatory on taps, showers and toilets (see waterrating.gov.au). WaterMark is the separate certification that says a plumbing product is safe and fit to be connected to the water supply; the ABCB scheme makes it compulsory. A licensed plumber can't install tapware without it, so check for the mark before you buy online.
